Introduction
Kia Ora, my name is Whaea Edith and I am in my third year of teaching. I am currently teaching 17 year 1-4 students in Room 1. Although I am new to the profession, I can assure you that I have been trained by highly professional and experienced practitioners and lecturers from The University of Auckland.
Yes, our classroom organisation may seem a little all over the place, but at present it is working for both me and the children while we focus on classroom routines, behaviour management, and awareness of safety amongst each other, and others.
Nobody knows these children better than their parents/caregivers, therefore your involvement and contribution to your child's education is acknowledged. Working alongside parents to bring out the best in their children, gives me great satisfaction.
Tangata ako ana i te whare, te turanga ki te marae, tau ana
A person who is taught at home, will stand collected on the Marae (meeting house grounds)
A child who is given proper values at home and cherished within his family, will not only behave well amongst the family but also within society and throughout his life.
Personal Information
I have a curious nature and I always seek out new ways to improve my teaching skills and advance the quality of education, Recently graduated with a Bachelor of Education (specialising in te Reo Maori), I also own and operate two businesses alongside my partner. My partner is an IT specialist and is currently training part time at The Diving Academy, to become a qualified Scuba Diving Instructor.

When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time with my family, going to the beach, diving, fishing, enjoying entertainment from live bands, singing, travelling, and keeping involved in cultural Practise's and commitments.
My partner and I have a blended family, and we are blessed to share 7 beautiful children and another baby on the way, due April 2016.
